      Ushering in the new year

In life, there are moments you struggle for: late nights staying up to finish assignments, cramming sheafs of notes just before the exam, and sucking up to people you hate; it all adds up to where you end up. Each one of these tiny struggles seems so important at the time; like your life depends on it. One day when you look back at your life, you won't even remember those moments.

Don't get me wrong, I truly believe that these little skirmishes are the blocks that build up your stairway to reach your dreams. And one day, these little things will add up to this amazing achievement that will make you so proud. After all, the society has set up its norms for measuring success, and you must measure up to it.

But there are some moments, exempt from the routine, that give you happiness that cannot be measured. These moments may not be the product of your all-nighters, your aggregate GPA, your talent or even luck. They could still be the fruit of your labour, your desperate attempts, and sometimes your deepest wishes coming true. That doesn't make it any less precious!

These little occasions are the ones when you are so overwhelmed with happiness that it brings you tears of joy. yes, I mean literal tears of joy; when everyone is cheering while you're weeping with happiness. I sincerely hope everyone experiences at least one moment like this in their lifetime.

So we all know that 2016 was appallingly sucky on a Global level. Nonetheless, I can count at least 3 moments which brought me to tears because life was so awesome at that point. And for that, Thank You 2016!

Happy new year!
